Entries are now open to Primary School children in the constituency for this years' Christmas Card competition
Each year, I send out around 300 Christmas cards to many organisations and individuals across Chelmsford. I use this as a chance to thank them for all that they have done in the year and wish them peace and happiness at this important time. I also send some cards to national and international contacts.
In the past, I have used many different images on the card, including images of Chelmsford. However, I know that our schools are full of young artistic talent, so I wanted to give children a chance to design the card. Hence, the idea of running a competition to find the best designer. I am delighted that Nicholas Henshall, Dean of Chelmsford Cathedral, will judge the shortlist.
There will be one winning design on the front of the card with the first name of the student and the name of their school along with two runner up designs on the back also with the first names of the students and the name of their schools.
The designs can be in landscape or portrait format and I will be sharing the winning designs on social media.
Each of the three winners can choose between a £15 book token or a House of Commons Teddy Bear.
If any of your students would like to enter the competition, please could you please post your entries to my office at 88 Rectory Lane, Chelmsford, CM1 1RF telephone 01245 352872 by Friday, 18th November 2022.
Alternatively, please call my office and one of my team can pop over and pick up the envelope of entries.
With kind regards,
PS. No taxpayer money will be used to fund the cards or postage.
