Each year, I send a Christmas Card to organisations and individuals across Chelmsford to thank them for all they do and to wish them a Happy Christmas. It is not a political thing, but a personal message of thanks from the MP.
Last year, I ran a Christmas Card competition for primary school children in Chelmsford to design the card. There was a “winner” as well as two “runners-up”. The entries were wonderful. The winning design last year was a very beautiful nativity scene.
The Dean of the Cathedral has very kindly agreed to judge the entrants this year and will organise a display of some of the designs in the Cathedral in the Christmas period.
Via the schools, the designs will need to be at the Chelmsford Constituency Office in Rectory Lane by Wednesday 22nd November, for judging the following day by the Dean. The entries will be judged without knowing which school each entry came from.
The three winners which each receive a House of Commons Teddy Bear or a book token if they prefer as well as having their design featured on the card with their first name, their year group and the school name.
I am really excited to see this year's entrants.
