I was delighted to recently meet with the new District Commander for Essex Police, Chelmsford District.
Chief Inspector Paul Ballard comes to us from Epping and Brentwood district.
We had a long chat covering a huge range of issues including tackling recent bike thefts, county lines, vehicle thefts, organised crime groups and burglaries. Paul is also determined to reduce violence against women and girls - a passion I share!
Interestingly, whilst reports of thefts from vehicles and antisocial behaviour have decreased in Chelmsford this year, there have been rises in burglaries and thefts of vehicles.
