A number of constituents have written to me with their concerns about disabled parking at Chelmsford Station.
So I recently visited the Station and met with Greater Anglia. I have been informed that since ANPR was introduced at Chelmsford station, blue badge holders do need to both register their blue badge and then display it.
I am told that ANPR cameras were introduced because the disabled access bays were being widely and consistently abused by those without specific accessibility needs - to the clear detriment of those with genuine eligibility to use them.
To register, you can go on the NCP website at www.gaparking.co.uk and if you have any issues you can ring 0345 050 7080. You can also phone within 24 hours of being there to register too.”
