1.3 million children rely on their free school meal every day. Many schools are already working super hard to make sure they still get food even when the schools are shut. And many schools are doing a great thing by keeping their kitchens open and preparing hot meals. At the Department for Education we’ve been working night and day to set up a new voucher scheme to make sure that where schools can’t do a local system they can easily provide food vouchers to those families.
