It has been very good to see children returning to school and we all hope they will have a much less disrupted year ahead. Thank you to everyone who has now had their second vaccination, this is such an important part of our road to recovery. Please do continue to encourage those who have not yet had a vaccination to come forward. Research continues to identify that the risks of vaccinations are far outweighed by the risks of the disease.
Over the summer, I travelled across the country meeting with children who are taking part in the Holiday Activities and Food scheme. This project is thanks to £220 million of government funding and after three years of trial projects, it is being run in every part of England for the first time ever this year. Many children and young people enjoyed the Holiday Activities arranged in Chelmsford. I would particularly like to thank all those who have been helping to give such a warm welcome to the children of new families arriving from Afghanistan.
Work coaches at Chelmsford Job Centre have been helping many residents into new roles and supporting them in training. I will be holding an Apprenticeship Fair at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford on 27 September from 10am to 3pm so if you are interested in opportunities to learn whilst you earn, please do come along this year’s event. You can drop in without registering ahead but it is helpful if you could do so: Chelmsford Training, Apprenticeship and Jobs Fair Tickets, Mon 27 Sep 2021 at 10:00 | Eventbrite
The consultation on the new Army and Navy Junction is open for public comment until October 3rd. This is a vital part of Chelmsford’s infrastructure. Please do look online at the different options and give your feedback.
As ever please do follow my Facebook page for local updates and email me if you need help or advice. My email is [email protected].
