Scientists at Britain's top defence and security company gave Chelmsford's new MP Vicky Ford a tour of their operations this week. The Applied Intelligence and Maritime division of BAE Systems includes many of the company's engineers and research scientists. Their Essex operations are based in Great Baddow. The visit included displays of the group's latest innovations in automated vehicles, maritime radar and space communications.
Mrs Ford commented "Chelmsford has unique expertise in the science and development of communication technology. Today this is also being used to find solutions to modern day threats like cyberattacks. I am very proud to have companies like BAE systems based in Chelmsford. They play a key part in maintaining Britain's leading position for innovation, security and defence"
