The innovative modular homes are the first of their sort in the country. Getting them set up, installed and ready for residents has taken much longer than the council originally hoped but one only had to listen to the stories of the residents and see the smiles to realise how worthwhile it’s been.
Like many urban, brown field sites it was hard to develop and planning rules would have suggested only two normal homes could be put here.... but instead nine “modular” homes have been put in place. For someone who is in a very difficult housing situation this offers a much better temporary housing solution than bed and breakfast.
