A lot of people are asking me when the new General’s Lane Bridge will open, this will make a huge difference to congestion in Springfield and Beaulieu. I recently visited the site with Kemi Badenoch MP. It is nearly complete.
There is still some snagging work to be done and then the bridge and road needs to be inspected by Highways to ensure that it’s is all up to spec.
Kemi and I were told by those working on the site that they expect the bridge to be open late summer. We will be writing to Highways to ask them to do the inspection as soon as possible.
