Further to the green light for the Army & Navy Junction and continued progress on delivering the Beaulieu Medical Centre and our second railway station, I am delighted that other infrastructure upgrades are moving forward in Chelmsford.
Improvements will be made to Bunny Walks see new surfacing and tactile paving installed. This will help increase safety for pedestrians and those on bikes.
I am delighted that new “Safer Streets” projects are on their way in Chelmsford, backed by Government funding to help keep people safe. This will include better lighting and CCTV at the footpaths at the bottom of the Avenues and other work in the city centre. This is on top of the £550,000 awarded two years ago to make similar safety improvements to the Bunny Walks.
The route between Victoria Road and Hillview Road will also receive an upgrade, with works following an earlier project to enhance the Victoria Road Toucan Crossing, with a new widened crossing.
Works on the first section of Bunny Walks, between Victoria Road and the first bridge crossing, have started today and will be completed before Christmas.
The section to Hillview Road will begin in January and will take around six weeks.
